Neatly Broken
Even something that appears whole is just neatly broken. Just ask a slice of bread.
We are all guilty of counting someone else’s blessings instead of our own at one time or another. C’mon, raise your finger if you’ve ever wondered why that one person in your life who seemingly has it together occasionally implies that life isn’t a crystal stair for them when what you perceive is clearly the contrary. Could it be the age-old adage of not judging a book by its cover illustrated in the flesh? Better yet, lets delve introspectively.
We’ve all experienced our fair share of life and its highs and lows.
Most of us can testify to some form of adversity that we’ve overcome that has challenged our perspective on life, altered our priorities or enhanced our personal morals. If we began to shed our layers and share our stories, people would gasp in awe at how we are merely “making it” or surviving.
Many of us have bore our burdens and battle scars in secret for so long, we’ve merely perfected the image of appearing whole. A slice of bread appears as a whole slice to the natural eye. But how often does one think about the neat, precise breaking of this morsel beyond the purpose it serves us as a slice of bread? It’s presented to us as a whole – a whole slice, but it is merely just a neatly broken piece of a [bread] loaf. Consider with me, that all who appear neatly and precisely put together are silent soldiers of resilient strength who have triumphed some form of adversity on the battlefield of life and their confident well put together demeanor and grace is their purple heart medal for honorable discharge.
